Special offering envelopes are again included in today's bulletin for the offering to the Baptist Children's Home and Family Services. Take note of this true story of eternal success:
Henrietta came to BCHFS when she was only 8 years old and she lived there until she was 17. Born to an alcoholic, abusive father and a 14-year-old mother, Henrietta was the oldest child in her family. Her father never wanted a daughter and she became the caregiver to her 5 brothers. Her mother left the family to escape her abusive husband, leaving Henrietta's aunt to raise them. This proved to be too much for the aunt and the children were given into the care of the BCH. Henrietta recalls once driving a lawn mower into a ditch, breaking the crankshaft. Instead of being met with anger she was taught how to fix it.
Henrietta has had a wonderful career as a nurse and is a mother and grandmother.  "BCH laid the foundation for how to live my life and I'm so very grateful."
The May Today In The Word issues are available at the main church entrances.  This month's study focuses on Living In Christ: The Book of Colossians.
